  • I know you think, I'm no match for you baby
You like making it rough on me don't, don't you? My, my
Back to the shack, ah, ah, yeah
Nothing suits me better than that

If time has taught me anything
Got to learn to be the ball
And I can't keep from laughing at it all
    Whoa, whoa, I'm goin' now

    I'm going all the way
Sooner or later gotta love somebody
Don't care how long it takes

Like a shot to the heart
    I've got news for you
I may not look so smart
    But I'm nobody's fool

All alone, that's enough for me baby
Taking it slow, it's too much for me to analyze
Still alright, heading into the rhythm of the sunlight

Winds of wild insanity, blow with me tonight
Saddle up all you cowboys, gonna ride
    Whoa, whoa, I'm goin' now

    I'm going all the way
Sooner or later gotta love somebody
Don't care how long it takes

You can turn up the heat
    But I'm playing it cool
I know it's hard to believe
    I ain't nobody's fool

I'm going all the way (all the way)
Sooner or later gotta love somebody (I don't care)
Don't care how long it takes

You might think that I have not
    Gone to school on you
    Baby like it or not
    I ain't nobody's fool

My illumination may come as some surprise
You may try to deny it
You're amazed when the clown slaps you in the face
Leaves you dumbfounded there in his wake (yeah)

I'm going all the way (yeah)
Sooner or later gotta love somebody (gotta love somebody)
Don't care how long it takes

Like a shot to the heart
    I've got news for you
    Baby, I'm not so smart
    But I'm nobody's fool

I'm going all the way (oh yeah)
I'm going all the way (Nobody's fool, baby, nobody's fool)
Don't care how long it takes (I don't care, listen to the right)
I'm going all the way (who's fooling who?) Writer/s: Kenny Loggins, Michael Towers

  • R.e.g from New EnglandThere's nothing in "I'm Alright" about "be the ball", Sara. Did you mean to say that line was not in that song? Or did you hear the line "no, no, cannonball it right away" as "be the ball"?

Actually, it's interesting that the two songs work in some of the dialogue from the movies. Chase did use "be the ball" in both. And "cannonball it" and "Cinderella kid" come from some of Bill Murray's dialogue in the first movie (specificially the scenes where Ty Webb and Carl Spackler meet and Carl give Ty the joint then tells him to cannonball it with some cheap wine/booze and the famous Cinderella story scene where Carl is cutting the flowers with the gardening tool while pretending to be golfing). "Nobody's Fool" seems to better incorporate it's movie, but I feel "I'm Alright" is more aimed at Danny Noonan and what's going on with him it the first movie.
  • Sara from Silver Spring, MdDann Huff played electric guitar on this not "I'm Alright". This includes the line "Be the ball" which was in the more successful Caddyshack theme "I'm Alright". The line was spoken by Chevy Chase who appeared in both movies.
