  • Truth Principles from MichiganSheila from Great Barrington, Massachusetts should relax for we don't really know the real meaning of the song. I did some research and found nothing conclusive.
Yes, her guess could be correct, but consider the following possibility:
A husband & wife who have been married for decades, grown such a deep, deep, very deep intense love, raised children that have grown, and, sadly, the wife has passed away.
Now, listen to the words of the song.
Do you know anyone in that situation?
If you do then the next time you see them or someone in that life-situation remember that even though they may have a smile on their face that deep inside they are hurting immensely!
That's my story and why I searched for the meaning of that song.
  • Sheila from Great Barrington, MaThis song is by turns sappy and creepy. It's like a stalker's theme song. Basically, he's fantasizing about a woman he knows and probably doing more than just thinking about her, as witnessed by the lines about touching each other and "touching her skin."

    Yeccch.
  • Seventhmist from 7th HeavenA good companion song to "My Eyes Adored You."
  • Dave from Wheaton, IlWho was the major artist that Kenny wrote it on assignment for, but rejected it? Please, let us know.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn March 6th 1977, "I Like Dreamin'" by Kenny Nolan peaked at #3 (for 1 week) on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; it had entered the chart on October 31st, 1976 at position #89 and spent over a half-year on the Top 100 (27 weeks, and for 7 of those 27 weeks it was on the Top 10 )...
It reached #4 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart...
Along with Bob Crewe he co-wrote Frankie Valli's "My Eyes Adored You" (#1 for 1 week in 1975) and Labelle's "Lady Marmalade" (also #1 for 1 week in 1975)...
He had three other records make the Top 100; "Love's Grown Deep" (#20 in 1977), "My Eyes Get Blurry" (#97 in 1977), and "Us and Love (We Go Together) (#44 in 1980).
