Candy Store Rock

  • Well oh baby baby
Don't you want a man like me?
Oh baby baby, I'm just as sweet as anybody could be
Oh baby baby, I want to look to your eyes, of blue
Oh baby baby, it's more than anybody else could do

    Well oh baby baby
You know when I see you walkin' down the street
Oh baby baby, well you lookin' good enough to eat
Oh baby baby, I don't believe I've tasted this before
Oh baby baby, I want it now
And every mouthful more of you

    Talk about you, yeah
    Talk about you

    Oh baby baby
You know that I wanted it more
    Oh baby baby
I'm about to kiss goodbye to this store
    Oh baby baby
It ain't the wrapping that sells the goods
    Oh baby baby
I got a sweet tooth when my mouth is full of you

    Talk about you
    Ooh, you
    Talk about you
    Yeah, talk about you
    Ooh yeah, talk about you
Ooh baby oh baby it's alright, it's alright
Oh baby it's alright it's alright

    Well, oh baby, baby
Oh you sting like a bee
    Oh baby, baby
I like your honey and it sure likes me
    Oh baby, baby
I got my spoon inside your jar
    Oh baby, baby
Don't give me too much, don't make me starve

    Oh baby, baby
Sugar sister on a silver plate
    Oh baby, baby
    I need a mouthful and I just can't wait
    Oh baby, baby
See the shaking in my hand
    Oh baby, baby
Don't mean to fumble but it tastes so grand
    Tastes so grand
    Tastes so grand
    Tastes so grand
    Tastes so grand, ooh
    Baby it's alright

    Oh it's alright
Ooh, oh, baby it's alright, oh it's alright
    Ooh, ooh, it's alright
    It's alright
Ooh, ooh, it's alright, it's alright
Ooh, ooh, it's alright, it's alright
Ooh, ooh, ooh, it's alright, it's alright
Ooh, ooh, yeah, it's alright, it's alright

  • Genesis from Tarlac, PhilippinesThe slide guitarlineon this song sounded a bit similar to
Howlin Wolf's Little Red Rooster penned by no other than Willie Dixon.
A song Wolf recorded in England with Eric Clapton on guitars.
  • David from Los Angeles , Cajust another excuse for Led Zeppelin to be bad ass
  • Micky from Los Angeles, CaZepp just plain out ROCKS!
  • Rachel from Bristol, TnI cannot have any problem with Presence. Achilles Last Stand is incredibly epic, played at breakneck speed live, and the opening and closing notes make it sound like the apocalypse is upon us. And, it doesn't get more badass than Nobody's Fault but Mine, or dirtier than Candy Store Rock. Led Zeppelin can do little wrong, in my book. But yeah, this song is where it's at, and I never get tired of it.
  • Elsa from Los Angeles, CaThis is one of my favorite Led songs ever!
  • Mark from Worcester, MiAlan, London, England; You're right and I was wrong. Mine was a thoughtless and small minded post. Just cuz it's not my favorite recording doesn't mean much. It's the bands evolution that counts, and they wanted to make the record. It's not what each individual fan thinks of every move that matters. Thank you for calling me on it.
  • Bill from Topeka, KsGood Song Guitar rift in the begining sounds alot like hot dog though
  • Peter Griffin from Quahog, RiPlant sounds drastically different on the Presence album than he does on all the other ones. I guess it was a result of the car crash.
  • Alan from London, EnglandI disagree with mark and ashley. Presence is a very good Zeppelin album. You have to realize that just because an album doesn't bring worldwide fame or sell 22 million albums doesn't mean its not a good album. Achillies last stand, nobody's fault but mine, Candy store rock and to a lesser extent tea for one (although it was more a continuation of since i've been loving you) are all very good songs and they make a very good album. Its not all about selling albums or pleasing fans..sometimes music just needs to be music.
  • Mark from Worcester, MiI Dunno Wilson...a lot of strong Zep fans have trouble with Presence. Why did they feel the need to rush it so much? Jimmy sates "the fact that it was completed in 3 weeks is so good for me" in the famous Rosen interview. Why was it so important though? Jimmy never says why. It's just not a strong album. There may have been fear that they were going to drift apart or maybe feared they?d have fallen off the radar if they were inactive too long. Still they knew they were the most popular band in the world at the time, and they may have been better off using that time to recharge creatively, and let Plant heal. Fans will wait for a long time for a band that reaches the heights Zep had. IMO if they had taken their time a lot of things could have turned out better. This weak track never would have seen the light of day. Patience would have saved the band; not ?Presence.?
  • Wilson from Atlanta, GaAre you kidding Ashley?! No Zep song is weak!!! You're crazy!
  • Ashley from Moncton, CanadaI've always thought this is one of the weaker Zeppelin songs, but it sounds awesome with car speakers blasting.
  • Melissa from Fairborn, OhThis is one of my favorite Led Zeppelin song. This song that has a '50s and '60s oldies like Especially on this track.
  • Mark from Lubbock, TxZeppelin donated all proceeds of the song to UNICEF. As it did not chart, UNICEF got stiffed big time. Cheap bastards.
  • Adrian from Wilmington, DePlant said this and "Achillies Last Stand" were his only strong vocal performences on Presence.
