  • My baby don't care for shows
My baby don't care for clothes
My baby just cares for me
My baby don't care for cars and races
My baby don't care for high-tone places

Liz Taylor is not his style
    And even Lana Turner's smile
    Is somethin' he can't see
My baby don't care who knows
My baby just cares for me

Baby, my baby don't care for shows
And he don't even care for clothes
    He cares for me
    My baby don't care
    For cars and races
    My baby don't care for
He don't care for high-tone places

Liz Taylor is not his style
    And even Liberace's smile
    Is something he can't see
    Is something he can't see
I wonder what's wrong with baby
    My baby just cares for
    My baby just cares for
My baby just cares for me Writer/s: Gus Kahn, Walter Donaldson

  • Melinda from AustraliaThe actor Richard Burton’s ex wife Sybil..became incensed when she bought this album home and listened to this song. And the lyric ‘Liz Taylor is not his style’.
    Why?
Cause Sybil’s husband, Richard Burton had left her high and dry recently (1963) for the incomparable beauty, actress Liz Taylor.
Her complaint was, could she not get Liz Taylor out of her life. It was the final straw for Sybil.
Sybil Burton went on to own and open the famous Arthur night club in New York in 1965. So I guess she was exploring music in a big way listening to Nina Simone, after the spectacular international scandal of Richard Burton leaving her. And Elizabeth Taylor leaving her husband, Singer, Eddie Fisher for Richard Burton.
