  • AnonymousRammstein wrote “Mein Teil” exactly because the premise was too macabre. The Armin Meiwes case is too bizarre to make up
  • Alex from GermanyHi Matt,
Rammstein writes often songs about actual events, most times if the German media overdo it again, this Song was written also because of this overdoing from the German Press while there was Armin Meiwes, there was also other bigger events ongoing in the world like the Irak War wich wasn't reported as much as the Canibalism of Rotenburg.

Rammstein made Song about it thats why the first line (very low volume) at the beginning says:
"Suche gut gebauten 18- bis 30-Jährigen zum Schlachten – Der Metzgermeister"
"Looking for a well-built 18- to 30-year-olds for slaughter - The Master Butcher"
which is an allusion to the press / newspaper (indicating part in newspaper)

It is macarbe because its the style they are using, there are more songs which are way more macarbe (like Spieluhr) - but you cannot hear it by the first try!

    greetings
    Alex aka Syli from Germany.
  • Matt from Glasgow, United Kingdomi don't think a sane person could write this song, it's just that bit to macarbe
  • Jon from Toronto, OnMy favourite song by Rammstein is Mein Herz Brennt the keyboard and guitar parts are so epic!!
  • Richard from Toledo, United StatesRammstein is the best band i have ever heard When i am not listening to one of there songs everything around me stops i plan on partying with them one day.
  • Tony from Colorado Springs, CoThe Keyboardist's name is Doktor Christian Lorenz, but goes by "Flake". He's always the one to get picked on by Till.
  • Ryan from Pittsburgh, PaIt should also be known that "Teil" can be used as slang in German, meaning "Penis"
  • David from Dresden, Germanymein teil = my part
    mein engel = my angel
  • Jeff from Hemet, Cai was told that mien teil means my angel but im not sure. its a really awsome song (my personal favorite) and i think you should try to see the music video

    -jeff arles,hemet,california
  • Brian from Winchester, Mayeah, at live shows for the song, the band would put the keyboardist in a pot, and Till dressed up like a chef. Till would use a flamethrower, and lite the pot, only to send the keyboardist flying out all black and smutty and on fire.
  • Nicole from Long Island, NyHmm. This doesnt mention that Meiwes cooked and ate Brandes' penis at Brandes' request. They would have eaten it together if Brandes hadn't suffered so much blood loss. Apparently there is also a video that Meiwes made showing all of this but it was never released to the public because it was far too disturbing. i found that info on a website somewhere. Anyway, the song is called mein teil (my part) referring to Brandes' penis. this song also has an awesome video.
  • Alex from Munich, GermanyYes it is
  • Marko from Novi Sad, SerbiaIs it really about Armin Meiwes?
