  • If you ever change your mind
    About leaving, leaving me behind
(Oh) baby, bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)

I know I laughed when you left
But now I know I only hurt myself
(Oh) baby, bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)

I'll give you jewelry and money too
That ain't all, that ain't all I'll do for you
(Oh) baby, if you bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)

You know I'll always be your slave
'Til I'm buried, buried in my grave
Oh, honey bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)

    One more thing
I tried to treat you right
But you stayed out, stayed out at night
But I forgive you, bring it to me
    Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah)
    Yeah (yeah) Writer/s: Sam Cooke

  • Stefanie from Rock Hill, ScI love how the vocals of Cooke and Rawls give this song a comiserating with your buds sort of feel.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyIn 1962 Carla Thomas released an answer record; "I'll Bring it Home To You", it peaked at #41!!!
  • Matthew from Columbia, MoTab Benoit does a very very good cover of this, often times he'll play it live as well.

Henry from NY, how can you say one version is the best when you haven't heard all of them, or even the original?
  • Nathan from From The Country Of, CanadaWithout Sam there wouldnt be a Marvin Gaye, or Journey, Rod Stewart, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Doobie Bros, or...should i go on?
  • Dan from Minneapolis, MnCheck out the live version from the Harlem Square Night Club in Miami, 1963. He gets the audience to yell the call-and-response portion of the song. Best line: "I don't care who you was with".
  • Lench from La Mirada, CaAbsolutely the best vocalist in history. There have been some greats, but Sam is the man. Such a hugely powerful song. "That's Where It's At" is another powerhouse love song. "Good Times", "Meet Me at Mary's Place", "Somebody Have Mercy" are some of my other favorites.
  • John from Clare, IrelandThis has to be up there with the best soul recordings. Mr Soul is what they called him I think. It is quite unlike his earlier hits which tended to be very smooth and teen-pop friendly, Sam himself saying that this wouldn't sustain him. If you want to hear Sam at his most raucous and energetic best try listening to 'Live at the Harlem Social Club'......one of the best live recordings I've ever heard!!
  • Kathryn from Portland , OrI absolutely LOVE this song!
  • Winn from Mcminnville, OrThis is a amazing song. Sam Cooke Melts My ears off. :)
  • Steve from Fenton, MoI can't believe only one comment on this incredible recording. This one of the best soul records ever. Come to think of it the only recording I would rate above this is Marvin Gaye's Heard it Through the Grapevine.
  • Henry from Kingston, NyThe Animal's version is the best. They're so underappreciated. I've never heard Sam's original, though.
