  • You know, if you break my heart I'll go
    But I'll be back again
'Cause I told you once before, "goodbye"
    But I came back again

    I love you so, oh
I'm the one who wants you
Yes, I'm the one who wants you
    Oh, ho, oh, ho, oh

You could find better things to do
Than to break my heart again
This time I will try to show that I'm
    Not trying to pretend

I thought that you would realize
That if I run away from you
That you would want me to
But I got a big surprise
    Oh, ho, oh, ho, oh

You could find better things to do
Than to break my heart again
This time I will try to show that I'm
    Not trying to pretend

    I wanna go
But I hate to leave you
You know I hate to leave
    Oh, ho, oh, ho, oh

You, if you break my heart I'll go
But I'll be back again Writer/s: John Lennon, Paul McCartney

  • Hoser From Land Of Lincoln from Land Of LincolnDominated (IMO) by Lennon's masterful, unique rhythm and flamenco guitar. No one does it better. Can you *imagine* what Hard Day's Night would have been if this tune had been included in the film? One of my favorites of all time. Released (in America) December 1964, six full months after it had been recorded.
  • Fernando Gonzalez from Coconut Creek, FloridaAnother incredible song... Absolutely beautiful and one that will stick inside anyone's head and ears from the first listen. It is delicate, complex, and a brilliant inspiration. The early change from major to minor chords is just incredible. Makes my skin crawl to listen to this song. Again, beyond belief John was just 23 or so years old at the time. If this output of pure music at that early age even without a strenuous musical training does not make him an absolute genious, i do not know what would.
  • Fernando Gonzalez from Coconut Creek, FloridaIncredible inspiration, profound beautiful melody and words. What a super genius John Lennon was.

  • Rick Margin from Brick,njThis was the first Beatle song to use 2 separate bridges.
  • John from Seattle, WaShawn Colvin's version of this song might be the best Beatles cover I've heard.
  • George from Belleville, NjAnother classic in the Beatles catalog.Great melody, great harmonies, there is a touch of sadness to the song with the lyric but the melody is so strong and upbeat that it makes you happy listening to it.
  • Sam from Hipsville, CaWas interesting to note than on the Anthology series, this track started out moreorless as a waltz during its' early evolution. I especially love that long extended note John sings at the beginning of the middle eight. What a voice!
  • Mark from Dublin, Irelandcheck out cliff richards version on his 1967 album "dont stop me now"
  • Kelly from Liverpool, United Kingdomlol john had a hard time singing the high part towards the end. they have a demo on the anthology CD that shows he thought it was too high. and couldnt sing it very well. its really funny to listen to xD
  • Kayla from Nashville, TnI love this song! IT ROCKS!!!
  • Charles from Charlotte, NcThis was included on the British A Hard Days Night LP
