  Between 1966 and 1970 the group had nineteen Top 100 records, with seven making the Top 10 and two reaching #1; "Hanky Panky" (for 2 weeks in 1966) and "Crimson and Clover" (for 2 weeks in 1969)...
  "Crystal Blue Persuasion" just missed making #1; it peaked at #2 (for 3 weeks) in 1969 and the three weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for those 3 weeks was "In the Year 2525" by Zager and Evans.
• Charlie from Binghamton, NyMost of the Oldies stations are stuck in a rut playing the same 500 oldies over & over & over. They just play only the "Safe" songs and skip many good oldies artists..... Example... When was the last time you heard a Bobby Goldsboro song???

I think the really dumb bubblegum music during this era swept away much of the good pop music the same way that the really wretched disco music swept away decent tunes of that era.
