Songfacts®:

  • The song's trippy music video was directed by Rich Ragsdale. The clip, which follows a group of friends who find magic in the mountains was filmed at Vasquez Rocks, in the Sierra Pelona Mountains outside Los Angeles. The site is a popular filming location that's been used in Blazing Saddles. Austin Powers and Star Trek.

"'Too Much to Think' is a song about the highs and lows of life - and seeking an escape from everyday stresses," said 311 frontman Nick Hexum. "It's such a magical setting and not surprising that they've shot so many iconic movies and TV shows onsite."
