Songfacts®:

  • Artist J. Dubose is a Bronx, New York City rapper who records under the name of Boogie wit da Hoodie. He launched his career with his debut full-length project, a mixtape titled Artist, in February 2016. This D Stacks-produced track from the record was his breakthrough single, earning him a recording contract with Atlantic Records.
  • This was Dubose's first tune penned for the clubs. "I never made a club song," he told Genius. "My man threw on the beat and it turned into some recreation s--t. When I hear people say 'This is my s--t,' I get a good feeling out of that, 'cause I made that song for people to say it like that."
