  • In March 2017, University of Louisville student Savannah Walker was shot and killed just before A Boogie's concert at the Tim Faulkner Gallery in Louisville, Kentucky. Part of the rapper's verse was inspired by the traumatic incident.

Savannah just wanted to see me perform
And got hit over stupid s--t
I woke up and saw the s--t right on my phone
They don't know who the shooter is

"I was in a certain state and a girl got shot coming to my show, and I was just on my way to go perform and the show never happened because she got hit," he explained to Montreality. "I made the song right after that."
