Transgender Dysphoria Blues deals with gender dysphoria, following the coming out of Against Me's frontwoman Laura Jane Grace as transgender. This song finds her reflecting on the effect it had on her wife, Heather.
Laura Grace told NME: "'F--- my Life' is something that my friend Pope, who died, used to say a lot of the time. And this song is really about my relationship with my wife in a lot of ways."
