Songfacts®:

  • This demo was the first ever song that Alanis Morrisette wrote with Glen Ballard, the producer of Jagged Little Pill. The pair wrote the tune within an hour of their initial meeting in 1994. The track had never been released until it was included on the album's 20th anniversary collector's edition in 2015.
  • The "bottom line" is a phrase meaning the main or essential point, the ultimate conclusion. The reference is to the line at the bottom of a financial statement, which reveals how a company or organization fared over a particular period in terms of the difference between income and expenditure.
