Songfacts®:

  • In an interview in The Radio Times, Anastacia said: "It was one of those songs, when you work so hard at loving someone and looking after them and being their friend, and you feel like you're giving 80% and they're giving 20. You want to put the shoe on the other foot and say, 'How does it feel that I didn't return your call?'"
  • Anastacia who was born Anastacia Newkirk in 1973 in New York was raised in Chicago. Diagnosed as suffering from the chronic intestinal illness Crohn's Disease at the age of 13, she overcame the symptoms to become a dancer, appearing on Club MTV and in the Salt-N-Pepa videos for "Everybody Get Up" and "Twist And Shout." After winning through to the final of the MTV talent contest show The Cut, she was signed by Daylight Records in March 1999. 18 months later she debuted in the UK charts with "I'm Outta Love." Also in 2000 her debut album Not That Kind, was a massive success. It reached the Top 10 in 8 European and Far East countries, selling over 2 million copies. This became her biggest UK hit and topped the American Hot Dance Singles Sales chart. >>>

  • Bob from BoblandI am a dancer and I have a solo to this and I think it is such an emotional song that has so many meanings the way I interpret it is that all your life you have been trying to fit in and be exepted but everyone pushes you out and bully you until you have had enough and come back stronger. Hope this helps x
