Songfacts®:

  • This song is about holding strong in battle. "'Stand or Fall' was one of those songs that I was apprehensive to show the band, because it wasn't a very 'thrash metal-y' song," Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante said in a Songfacts interview. "But I liked it, and it was very melodic. We just made it work. We put it on the record, and it fit with the other songs. But it is a bit of a departure from that record."
  • This opens with a guitar piece titled "S.S.C." which is rumored to stand for "suck some c--k."
