Songfacts®:

  • According to Asher Roth,' a flohican is "a lyricist who is one with the world." The rapper is saying he is the last one of these, in a play on words with James Fenimore Cooper's 1826 historical novel The Last of the Mohicans.
  • The song's music clip is the second of a trilogy, which tells the story heard in Asher Roth's RetroHash album. The video series chronicles the story of his getaway from the city ("Parties at the Disco"), his detachment from his ego (this cut), before finally arriving at nirvana ("Pull It").

"This video and song represent the death of ego," Roth explained. "Removing 'I' from the situation and living a life built around courage and love."
