Songfacts®:

  • "Ojitos Lindos" is a romantic duet between Bad Bunny and Liliana Saumet of the Colombian band Bomba Estéreo. They once were a couple, but having gone their separate ways they now realize they're meant to be together. While Saumet sings of getting lost in Bad Bunny's cute eyes, the Puerto Rican rapper gets carried away by her smile and the mole near her mouth. The title translates to "Pretty Eyes."
  • Bad Bunny and Liliana Saumet wrote the song with Saumet's Bomba Estéreo bandmate, Simón Mejía. It is Bad Bunny's first collaboration with the electronica fusion Colombian duo.
  • Puerto-Rican Latin-pop architect Tainy produced the track with La Pacienciam and Asis. A frequent Bad Bunny collaborator, Tainy contributed towards nine Un Verano Sin Ti songs. He previously worked with Bomba Estéreo when he remixed their 2015 cut "To My Love."
  • Bad Bunny sent Bomba Estereo the song's beat, then let them add whatever they wanted. "I just let them know what the vibe of the album was and that I wanted to keep 'ojitos lindos' in the lyrics," he told the comedian Chente Ydrach.
  • Tainy's younger brother Masis came up with the original idea for the song. His instrumental was in a different style; when Bad Bunny heard it, he loved the trumpets, which we now hear at the start of the track. "He felt something special from it," Tainy explained to Billboard, "but the sounds that came after the original instrumental was not what he had in mind."

"That's where I come in," the producer added. "Since we have studio chemistry, I knew what he was looking for, and having this melody that my brother brought was the perfect base."

Bunny said it reminded him of the vibe from a song Tainy remixed for Bomba Estéreo, "To My Love." As he'd always wanted to work with Bomba, he asked Tainy to send the track to them. Liliana Saumet and Simón Mejía loved it and began working on their part. Once he received their contribution, Bunny took it to his own world and added his lyrics and vibe.
  • Bad Bunny dropped the music video on Valentine's Day 2023. Directed by his longtime collaborator Stillz, the visual portrays the rapper enjoying his single life as he dates various ladies with a smile on his face. However, none of them can compare to the woman with the "pretty eyes" who holds a special place in his heart.
