  • Bailey Zimmerman has weathered plenty of criticism since he broke onto the scene in 2022. His haters question his country credentials, citing the way he dresses and fondness for partying, suggesting he's adopted a country persona for career gain. On "New To Country" the Illinois singer-songwriter highlights how his roots are set deep in the sticks.

Ain't a thing changed 'round here but the money
You try to mix it up but let me tell you something
Same liquor in my dixie, same rowdy bunch with me
I'll be laid up in the dirt before you ever take it from me

Zimmerman's successful music career has given him a comfortable lifestyle, but beneath the surface he remains a country boy at heart.
  • Before releasing "New To Country" Zimmerman teased it with an unapologetic video, telling his detractors that he's always been country, no matter what clothes he wears.

"Being country is about way more than wearing a cowboy hat on your head or wearing boots on your feet," he said. "I grew up country as hell, and I still ain't changed, so I wrote a song about it for everybody that makes fun of me and tells me I'm not country because I wear Air Force Ones. Kiss my ass, this song's called 'New To Country.'"
  • Bailey Zimmerman wrote "New To Country" with his guitarist Tim Galloway, along with Heath Warren and Jacob Hackworth.

Heath Warren and Jacob Hackworth penned Zimmerman's hit single "Rock And A Hard Place" with Jet Harvey.
