Songfacts®:

  • On this searing country-rock song, Bailey Zimmerman tells his girlfriend he's had enough of her deceitful ways. He's done with her lying, the way she takes him for granted, and the hurtful things she says. There will be no more torment or heartbreak, because this is where it ends.
  • "Where It Ends" is likely about the same breakup Zimmerman sang about on "Rock And A Hard Place." In that song, he reflects on their broken relationship and wonders whether it's still worth trying to fix things. Here, Zimmerman has reached the end of his tether and tells her it's over. Though he's moving on, his sadness and the hurt about her betrayal still lingers.
  • Zimmerman outlined his anger and frustration about the girl that inspired the two songs in a TikTok video where he says: "She's cheated on me God knows how many times…What makes ya think ya gonna be any different."
  • Zimmerman wrote "Where It Ends" with Grant Averill (Gayle's "Dumbass," Colton Dixon's "Devil Is A Liar") and Joe London (Jason DeRulo's "Wiggle," Fifth Harmony's "Bo$$," Thomas Rhett's "Die a Happy Man").
  • Austin Shawn's production augments Zimmerman's raspy, heartbroken vocals with churning instrumentation and hard-hitting drum beats. Shawn also helmed the singer's "Fall In Love" and "Rock And a Hard Place" singles.
  • When the song debuted on the Country chart, Bailey Zimmerman became the first artist to land his first three entries in the Top 10 simultaneously. In the same week that "Where It Ends" arrived at #7, "Rock and a Hard Place" was at #6 and "Fall in Love" #10.
