  • Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, known professionally as Beabadoobee, is a Filipino-British singer-songwriter born in Iloilo City, Philippines. She moved to London with her family at age 3.
  • Growing up in London, Beabadoobee felt like an outsider but found solace in music and art. She connected deeply with alternative and grunge music, influences that would shape her musical style.
  • She attended a Catholic all-girls school but struggled academically and socially, leading to her expulsion at 17. This period of uncertainty spurred her to focus on songwriting as an outlet for her emotions.
  • After her father gifted her a secondhand classical guitar, Beabadoobee taught herself to play using YouTube tutorials. Her first original song, "Coffee," uploaded to streaming platforms in 2017, went viral. This led to a deal with Dirty Hit Records in April 2018.
  • In 2019, Canadian rapper Powfu sampled her song "Coffee" in his track "Death Bed (Coffee For Your Head)," which peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
