Songfacts®:

  • This song is an analytical commentary on the United States. In the song, Jesus walks through his "land" to find that all the so-called Christians, his followers, don't recognize Him. They are too busy acting the part to really know and live the life he wants for them. >>

  • Jack from Massachusetts I'm not really religious, but I think this is good commentary on how ego is more important to some than what they really believe in.
  • Jake from London, United Kingdomlol @ suggestion for more songs about spirituality or religion and reality of this music video.
  • Erika from Topeka, KsThis is Ben Folds, not Ben Folds Five. It's on Songs for Silverman.
  • Joshua from Twin Cities, MnThe title presumably refers to a satirical map of North America that was published online shortly after the 2004 Presidential elections. The map showed those American states carried by Democratic candidate John Kerry as being annexed to Canada and renamed "The United States of Canada," with the remaining states - the ones carried by the winning incumbent George W. Bush - as "Jesusland," referring to the perception that the influence of the Christian right played a major role in Bush's re-election.
  • Lexie from Sydney, Australiai think it has one of the guys from 'little britian' in the film clip. love it.
