Songfacts®:

  • Big Sean shows off his confident side on this energetic, sexy track, as he dismisses his competition.

Got a little time and a lot of talent
Do a little talking and a lot of action
Seen the competition, hm, not a challenge

The theme of unlocking your inner potential and making the most out of life runs throughout the I Decided album. Sean tweeted: "My whole life changed when I Decided."
  • The song is the second single released from I Decided. Sean told Zane Lowe regarding the record's concept: "This album, this is my snapshot of what I'm going through right now, what I'm feeling like. I Decided. means so many things. I feel like life is all about the decisions you make. This is what I decided. That's why I put a period on the end of it because this is definitive."
  • The song's beat was supplied by Fuse from 808 Mafia, who are a production and songwriting team founded by record producers Southside and Lex Luger. Fuse is a prodigy of Southside and also has production credits on cuts by Chief Keef ("War"), Young Thug ("Bread Winners") and Rick Ross ("Buy Back The Block").
