Songfacts®:

  • Brandon Heath wrote "See Me Through It" with Kyle Williams, Ran Jackson and Heather Morgan when the US government was pulling troops out of Afghanistan. The evacuation led to the Taliban takeover of Kabul in August 2021. The song expresses what it means to live a God-centered life in a stormy world.
  • Heath also had in mind the COVID pandemic, when people worldwide faced a tempestuous season. "For some of us, it feels like rock bottom," Heath told New Release Today. "But we can know what rock we're standing on, and He's not going anywhere."

Our God is bigger than all our problems
The only One who knows how to solve 'em
So, if you're sittin' in the back, rock bottom
Prayers in the air if you got 'em

God sees a much larger, multi-dimensional view of what's going on in our lives. "No matter how lost we feel or how difficult things get, He sees us where we're at, and He's going to see us through it," said Heath. "No matter what's going on around us, God will see us through it. That's what this song is about."
  • The song's title contains a double meaning. "The first meaning is I wanted to express how God sees us through our current season: easy or troublesome," explained Heath. "The other meaning is that God also walks us through those seasons."
  • Brandon Heath released "See Me Through It" as the second single from the album Enough Already on June 26, 2022. It topped Billboard's Christian Airplay chart, becoming Heath's fourth song to reach #1 on the tally. He previously reached the summit with "I'm Not Who I Was," "Give Me Your Eyes" and "Your Love."
