Letter To Krept

Album: The Commitment (2016)
Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • Running to around 5 minutes 10 seconds, this slightly enigmatic rap with a haunting backtrack is literally a letter, to Cadet's cousin Krept. The song is very confessional, recounting the good times they shared, and the bad. It ends with Cadet letting his cousin know he loves him. In four years it racked up over six million views on YouTube.

Cadet (Blaine Johnson) and Krept (Casyo Johnson), were very close, so Krept was devastated when Cadet was killed in a car crash on February 8, 2019 aged just 28. >>>

  • A few weeks after Cadet's death, Krept released a track called "Last Letter To Cadet" with a video incorporating footage from Cadet's funeral.
