  • During his Sounds of Summer Tour with Dierks Bentley, Cannan Smith kicked off his show with this song. "It's like it sets the tone for here we go y'all," he explained. "I hope you came to party because we did. It's Friday night and the whole idea of a hole in a bottle, a never ending - you're not going to get to the bottom of it, that's a pretty cool thing especially if you're out to party. So I think it sets the tone for a great night and this album it found a good spot on the album too for that same reason."
  • Canaan Smith explained the story behind the song to DirectlLyrics: "My fans are the hardest working people," he said. "They bust their ass all week long. So by the time Friday rolls around, they wanna forget the time clock and let loose. I want 'Hole In a Bottle' to be what takes em there."
  • Smith invited his friends to take part in the song's music video, which was filmed at the Sumner Skate Zone in Gallatin, Tennessee. Among the people you might spot enjoying the festivities are the singer's real-life wife Christy and his friend Kristian Bush.
