Songfacts®:

  • This dreamy tune was penned by Carrie Underwood along with Brett James and Hillary Lindsey. The first verse takes its inspiration from the singer's relationship with her husband, NHL hockey player Mike Fisher (they got hitched on July 10, 2010), and the second about their baby boy, Isaiah. "I never dreamt of my wedding day and the perfect guy. Then I met Mike, and I was like, 'Wow, so now I know what I was missing,'" Underwood told People. "And the same with my son. I was never like, 'I want kids so bad.' And now that I have Isaiah in my life, I'm like, 'What did I do before?'"
  • The song finds Underwood admitting that motherhood wasn't something she'd always imagined for herself:

I never pictured myself singing lullabies in a rocking chair in the middle of the night.

She told People: "There's always one song on each of my albums that it's just like, 'That's so personal and really deep and kind of hard to get through. It's just for me.' And that one is definitely just for me."
