Cian Ducrot

Cian Ducrot Artistfacts

  • August 30, 1997
  • Cian Ducrot was born in Cork, Ireland, and grew up in a musical household. His mother, Sabine, was a concert pianist and flautist, and she encouraged him to learn music from a young age. Cian started playing the flute when he was 8 years old, and he quickly showed a natural talent for music.
  • Ducrot was awarded a scholarship to study classical flute at the Royal Academy of Music in London. However, after a trip to Los Angeles, he decided the classical institution wasn't for him, and he dropped out. "I didn't feel like I fitted in at college," Ducrot told The Sun. "There were so many cliques and it wasn't for me. But I'm like that now. I still don't feel like I fit in with pop music."
  • After dropping out of the Royal Academy of Music, Ducrot moved back to Ireland and started writing his own music. His debut mixtape, Started in College, is a collection of songs he wrote while couch surfing between London and Los Angeles. Following its release in June 2020, Darkroom/Interscope Records signed Ducrot.
  • Cian Ducrot garnered his first entry on the UK and Ireland Singles charts with "All For You" after it went viral on TikTok. It eventually peaked at #19 in the UK and #2 in Ireland.
  • Ducrot's favorite hobby outside of music is skateboarding.
  • Asked by Tone Deaf what his dream rider is, Ducrot replied: "It would be sushi, coffee, lemon water, paprika crisps, a piano and a guitar."
