Class Song - 1909

Album: The Unpublished Cole Porter (1909)
  • songfacts ®
  • According to Robert Kimball in The Complete Lyrics Of Cole Porter, Porter began songwriting in earnest between 1905 and 1909; "Class Song - 1909" was one of the songs he produced at this time, but it didn't survive. From its title this was obviously written about/inspired by his time at Worcester Academy. He had more success with the songs he wrote at Yale, including football songs (his "Bulldog Bulldog" is still the school's official fight song). >>
