Songfacts®:

  • Guitarist Herman Li recalled the story of the song to AMH Network: "When we did the demo, the lyrics were kind of a joke, we wrote the lyrics inspired from a movie called King of Kong which talks about these guys who try to be the best Donkey Kong players in the world, so the music has a video game theme to it, especially the middle where I do all these weird noises with the guitar which makes it feel very retro."

"We ended up changing the lyrics," he added, "but the music stayed the same."
