Songfacts®:

  • The third installment of Drake's "In the AM" series, following "9AM In Dallas" and "5AM In Toronto," this If You're Reading This It's Too Late track finds the Toronto MC attacking several other rappers. Tyga in particular is the recipient of some vitriol:

I heard a lil lil homie talking reckless in Vibe
That's quite a platform you chose, you shoulda kept it inside
Oh you tried, it's so childish calling my name on the world stage
You need to act your age and not your girl's age

Drake's beef with Tyga stems from a Vibe interview in October 2014 when the Californian spitter said he thought Drizzy was "fake" and released a diss track titled "Make It Work" aimed at the Toronto rapper and his friend Nicki Minaj.
  • Some lyrical analysis:

    1. The "lil lil homie" stab is a reference to Tyga's song titled "Lil Homie" from his debut album.

    2. Tyga's rumored girlfriend Kylie Jenner was 17-years-old when Drake recorded the song, hence the "You need to act your age and not your girl's age," line.
