Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool

Album: In This Light and On This Evening (2009)

  • This song was written after the financial crash of October 2008. Frontman and lyricist Tom Smith explained to The News of the World September 20, 2009: "The original inspiration for that track was a Banksy painting. It shows the House Of Commons but instead of MPs it's full of monkeys. I think after the events of last year, all of us have a lack of trust in those in power. The idea that made me laugh - and I wrote the lines with my tongue firmly in my cheek - was the greed of these people and the notion of them chomping manically on raw flesh. That image became central to the song."
