Songfacts®:

  • In Dream is the first Editors album to feature duets, with Slowdive's Rachel Goswell sharing vocal duties on this track and "Ocean Of Night." Editors guitarist Justin Lockey also teamed up with Goswell, as well as Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite, on the side project Minor Victories.
  • The song finds Editors vocalist Tom Smith singing of a miserable character, who is advised by Goswell not to "let it get heavy." Smith told Spin the song is "as close to 'I Got You Babe' as [they] are ever gonna get."
