• Steven Furtick, Chandler Moore, Pat Barrett, Abubakar Baker Shariff-Farr (better known as indie singer-songwriter Bakar), and Joshua Coleman co-wrote the track.   Moore spoke warmly of the writing session: "I've written some of my favorite songs with Pastor Furtick and Elevation Worship, and 'God I'm Just Grateful' is right at the top of that list. It captures exactly what we feel every time we come together; it's an overflow of genuine thanks. This song isn't about striving; it's about simply being thankful for who God is and all He's done."
• Moore was already a familiar collaborator with Elevation Worship, having featured on their massive crossover hit "Jireh" with Maverick City Music, and later joining Brandon Lake and Chris Brown on "Praise." The latter spent 31 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart and won Worship Recorded Song of the Year at the 2024 GMA Dove Awards. While those mega-hits are built on high-energy communal declarations, "God I'm Just Grateful" leans into a more intimate response.
