Songfacts®:

  • "Praise" is a spirit-stirring anthem by Elevation Worship that encourages the Lord's people to raise their voices in joyful thanksgiving, no matter the storms life throws our way. The lyrics remind us that God is sovereign, a king whose reign is absolute, and praise is a powerful weapon that transcends hardship and strengthens our connection with Him. As long as breath fills our lungs, we have a reason to sing His praises.
  • The vocalists are Charlotte, North Carolina-based Elevation Church worship leader Chris Brown, Maverick City Music's Brandon Lake and worship artist Chandler Moore.
  • Chandler Moore kicks off the song by quoting Psalm 150 v 6:

Let everything, let everything that has breath
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
  • Brandon Lake, Chandler Moore, and Chris Brown wrote the song with worship artists Cody Carnes and Pat Barrett and Elevation lead pastor Steven Furtick.
  • Elevation Worship released "Praise" as the third single from their 11th live album, Can You Imagine?, on February 12, 2024. It reached #1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart dated March 16, 2024. dethroning Brandon Lake's solo hit "Gratitude" after a 28-week reign.
  • What really launched "Praise" to the top? Look no further than the March 1 release of a special Praise EP. The five-song offering contains a variety of takes on the hit track, catering to different musical tastes. There's the soulful "Carolina Version" and the energetic "Alastair Remix." And the Spanish-language version, titled "Alaba," expanded the song's reach even further.
  • "Praise" marked the third chart-topping song for Elevation Worship, following "Graves Into Gardens" and "Same God." It was the fourth #1 for Brandon Lake, and the first for Chris Brown and Chandler Moore. The song went on to spend 31 weeks at the summit.
