This inspirational song is the first single from actress and R&B/soul singer Fantasia's third studio album. The 2004 American Idol champ first introduced it on her VH1 docu-series Fantasia For Real. She later performed it on The Oprah Winfrey Show on February 3, 2010.
Written by Heather Bright and produced by The Stereotypes, the song illustrates the steps Fantasia made to get her life back on track after various events that led to the mismanagement of her career. They include missing numerous Broadway performances of The Colour Purple due to a tumor on her vocal cords.
Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" is a mashup of "Werewolves Of London" and "Sweet Home Alabama." The album it came from was released in October, 2007, but they held off until summer, 2008 for a more seasonable release.
Stephens Stills played timbales on the Bee Gees hit, "You Should Be Dancing." He was in the next door studio laying down a Crosby, Stills and Nash album and could hear Saturday Night Fever being recorded. Stills recognized its potential to be a monster hit and he wanted to contribute.
Who writes a song about a name they found in a phone book? That's just one of the everyday things these guys find to sing about. Anything in their field of vision or general scope of knowledge is fair game. If you cross paths with them, so are you.
