Songfacts®:

  • The lyrics of this sensitive ballad reflect events concerning the band, including FFDP frontman Ivan Moody's wife accusing the singer of infidelity and being violent during their relationship, and the group being sued by its record label, Prospect Park. In addition, Ivan Moody, bassist Chris Kael and drummer Jeremy Spencer all struggled with substance addiction issues at some point during the 2010s.

"This song is about loyalty, the kind of loyalty that doesn't crumble in the face of adversity, which we have faced many times throughout our career and in our lives," explained Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory. "This is a very human subject everyone can relate to and it is something this world can use more of."
  • The song's music video follows the relationship between two police officers and is dedicated to the memory of the Las Vegas cop Charleston Hartfield, who lost his life in the 2017 Route 91 mass shooting. The police officer and Army veteran used his body to shield and protect others from a hail of bullets.

Guitarist Zoltan Bathory, who penned the treatment for the video, said:

"Instead of giving you a typical quote about the music video, let me give you some data to ponder... Medical malpractice is the 3rd leading cause of death in the USA right behind heart-disease and cancer. Some research says an average of 250,000 people die every year because of medical errors. In contrast, police officers make an average of 50 fatal errors annually, that's 245,950 less - and most of them are due to split-second decisions in high-risk situations.

Of course, loss of life is always tragic but we don't put all medical professionals on blast or call them names, disrespect them and demonize them. Of course not. They're doing their best and it would be just as ridiculous as the current, grossly unfair rhetoric against police as a whole."
