  • When European label Bella Union released "Mykonos" as a single, they did so both as a 7-inch vinyl record as well as a digital download. The B-side on the UK version is "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song (live)," while the US B-side is "False Knight on the Road."
  • With an interesting mix of baroque pop, classic rock, and British folk, Fleet Foxes is a band showing influence from such '60s performers as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Zombies, and the Beach Boys. Sun Giant, the album on which "Mykonos" appears, was named the #1 album of the year by Pitchfork Media, Chicago. It was originally intended to be a tour release only, but became an official release after fan demand.
  • This song is particularly noteworthy for the video - an enchanting stop-motion animation done with origami and papercut models. It has a unique style, being kind of macabre but in a playful way, maybe similar to Edward Gorey's work. >>
