Songfacts®:

  • This is the lead single from Flyleaf's Who We Are EP. The song was penned and recorded during a break in the band's gigging schedule as they took the opportunity to go into the studio with producer Howard Benson. The live tracks on the disc came from their 2013 winter tour with Drowning Pool.
  • The song was the band's first release to feature their new singer Kristen May. The vocalist came on board shortly after Flyleaf completed and released their New Horizons album in 2012, as longtime vocalist Lacey Sturm exited the group.
  • The song features a guest vocal turn by P.O.D.'s Sonny Sandoval. Flyleaf said: "'Something Better' is one of the first songs we wrote with Kristen May. It was an awesome experience writing together! Plus, having Sonny from P.O.D. on this track was really special. We've been fans of theirs for years, and it was an honor to do this collaboration."
