Songfacts®:

  • Here, Fred Again teams up with American rapper Lil Yachty and London-based electronic music duo Overmono. The song blends Fred Again's signature emotional sound with Lil Yachty's freewheeling rap style and Overmono's dance music sensibilities.
  • Lil Yachty delivers heartfelt verses that touch upon being there for someone through life's challenges, even when things are tough.

Realize every moment won't be perfect, but I do
Trying all the mistakes that I made with you, with you

"I really love that line man. It sounds so pure to me," Fred wrote in an Instagram post of him and Yachty recording the song. "I think this song is about like tryna support someone but not really knowing how to."
  • Fred Again, Lil Yachty and Overmono wrote the song with Boo. The American rapper Sabrian "Boo" Sledge was one half of the hip-hop duo Boo & Gotti, best known for appearing on the 2001 hit "Fiesta (Remix)" with R. Kelly and Jay-Z. Boo subsequently worked with Lil Wayne, featuring on his I Am Not a Human Being II track "Curtains."
  • Directed by Uncanny, the music video shows Lil Yachty hearing the finished track for the first time on a powerful sound system. "I'm pretty sure that before this he might have only heard it through his phone," said Fred. "And this tune is obviously builtttt for rooms and sound like this. So it was fun to get to play it to him like that."
  • Fred Again and Overmono debuted the song at a show in New York on February 9, 2024, with Lil Yachty as a surprise guest. Fred Again released it as a single 19 days later.
