  • Fred again (real name Frederick Gibson) is a British music producer, songwriter, and electronic artist renowned for his innovative production style. He gained widespread recognition for blending emotional storytelling with electronic music, especially through his "Actual Life" album series, which features voice notes and personal moments from his life.
  • Fred comes from a prominent British aristocratic family. His father, Charles Anthony Warneford Gibson KC, is a barrister. His mother Mary Ann Frances Gibson (née Morgan) is the daughter of Sir John Morgan KCMG and the Hon. Fionn O'Neill.

Fred's great-grandmother was Ann Fleming, a British socialite who was married to Lord O'Neill, Lord Rothermere, and James Bond author Ian Fleming.
  • He attended Marlborough College, an elite boarding school in Wiltshire, England. Other alumni of the school include royals such as Kate Middleton, Pippa Middleton and Princess Eugenie. Fred used to bunk off lessons to go and produce music. He admitted to The Guardian, "I was fortunate enough to not even be slightly good at anything else."
  • At age 16, Fred was introduced to the acclaimed musician Brian Eno, who became his mentor.

"I did a concert of this piece that I very grandly called an Electronic Symphony, for an orchestra, a band and some rappers," Fred told Issuu.com. "Brian came, he was invited by a friend of a friend. It was just a beautiful coincidence. He asked me to join his singing group and we became very good friends. I was working on stuff with him and he would help me with it."
  • His first credits came on Brian Eno's two back-to-back collaborations with Underworld's Karl Hyde, Someday World and High Life, released in 2014 when Fred was 20. He co-produced both records along with Eno.
  • Over the next few years, Fred became a highly successful producer, working with artists like Ed Sheeran, Stormzy and George Ezra.

In 2019, Fred had either a writing or production credit on 30% of all the UK's #1 singles and, not surprisingly, was named Best Producer at that year's BRITs. Aged 26, he was the youngest ever winner.
  • His solo career as Fred again took off during the COVID-19 pandemic, with his first two projects Actual Life and Actual Life 2 created during lockdowns.
  • Fred's live performances are renowned for their energy and crowd interaction, often leading to sold-out shows.
  • Fred again has a casual and approachable look, often seen in simple streetwear or hoodies. His laid-back style reflects his down-to-earth personality and connection with his audience.
  • Fred's music hints at a personal philosophy centered on connection, mindfulness, and the celebration of life's fleeting moments. His "Actual Life" series reflects a contemplative approach to life and human experience.
