I Serve the Base


  • Most of Future's vocals for DS2 were recorded in freestyle-like bursts, and arranged later. For instance the "I serve the base" hook for this heavy bass-filled oath of fidelity to the street life only became the song's chorus in the editing process.
  • The base that Future is selling here on the streets is freebase cocaine. That is coke that has been freed from impurities by heating it to produce vapors for inhalation.
