  • G-Eazy hooks up with his girlfriend Halsey for this romantic duet, which details a story of two star-crossed lovers. "Me and Halsey, we just clicked like that," G-Eazy told MTV News correspondent Gaby Wilson about how the song came together. "We made the record and it came from a really genuine, authentic place, and I think when music comes from a place like that, is when music is at its best."

"That's a Bonnie and Clyde song," he continued, "that's a star-crossed lovers song, that's a crazy in love, like, we would kill for each other, we would die for each other kind of thing."
  • Speaking to 97.1 AMP Radio's McCabe about the Futuristics-produced track, Halsey said: "It's like this Bonnie & Clyde record and we made it out of love, which is really, really awesome. Getting to share that with the world is really cool because it's not a contrived thing. It's not two artists pretending to be something they're not for the sake of a story."
  • G-Eazy and Halsey first debuted their "Him & I" collaboration during a live performance in August 2017. The song was released via a World Premiere on iHeartRadio on November 30, 2017.
  • The song's music video was filmed by G-Eazy and Halsey during a weekend in New York City. It was specifically designed to give fans a look into their relationship.

"The song is just about us, y'know, it happened really organically," G-Eazy told ABC Radio. "And I wanted the video to kinda portray that same thing, just to be a peek into our lives, the same way the song is."
