Songfacts®:

  • Gabriella Cilmi explained in publicity materials: "I met someone who I felt really comfortable with and all those feelings that come with feeling comfortable with someone. The song is kind of about that, although I'm not even friends with that person any more."
  • This song samples the introductory riff from Maxine Browne's 1964 hit version of the Goffin/King song "Oh No Not My Baby."
  • The production team Xenomania produced and co-wrote the Lessons to be Learned album. Xenomania are based in a grand house cum studio in Kent, which was once the home of Alice Liddell, the real-life Alice In Wonderland. Gabriella recalled being holed up there: "It was this huge house with a beautiful garden with a stream running through it and all these trees. Henry the 8th used to ride his horse around there, Winston Churchill's house is across the road."
