Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single from American country music artist Gary Allan's eighth studio album, Get Off on the Pain. Brice Long and Tommy Lee James wrote this song of regret about losing a lover. The latter previously co-penned Allan's hit single "Life Ain't Always Beautiful." (Check out our interview with Tommy Lee James.)
  • Allan said of this song on Jeff Foxworthy's The Foxworthy Countdown: "It's one of those songs that you missed it with that girl, that's the girl you always thought you should have (been) with and you let her slip through your fingers and now she is happy as hell and doesn't think about you ever."
