Become The One

Album: Silver Eye (2017)

Songfacts®:

  • This song was inspired by the 2015 documentary My Transgender Summer Camp. Alison Goldfrapp previously explored the idea of transitioning on 2013's "Annabel." The Guardian asked her what drives that interest.

"I've always felt that not everybody is one thing," she replied. "Sexuality and gender are complex. I saw that documentary a few years ago and I was so taken aback by how articulate the main girl was about her experience. At the end, she said: 'I'm not changing who I am, I am becoming who I am' and I found that really moving."
