  • "Buddy's Back" is Graham Nash's nostalgic tribute to Buddy Holly. The song appropriately features vocals by Allan Clarke, who together with Nash, co-founded The Hollies. The name reflects their admiration for Holly.
  • Graham Nash recorded "Buddy's Back" for his seventh solo studio album, Now. He co-produced the record with his longtime keyboardist, Todd Caldwell.
  • Nash sings the lead and Clarke joins him on the chorus. Allan Clarke also recorded "Buddy's Back" for his 2023 album I'll Never Forget. On his record, Clarke sings the lead and Nash joins him on the chorus.
  • Nash plays the acoustic guitar and does hand claps on the track. The other musicians are:

    Todd Caldwell: celeste, hand claps
    Shane Fontayne: electric guitar
    Thad Debrock: acoustic guitar
    Brett Bass: upright bass
    Toby Caldwell: drums
    Beth Callen: hand claps
  • Nash recorded most of Now remotely during the pandemic. "I would put a rough acoustic guitar and rough vocal down onto tracks, send the files to Shane in Los Angeles, who'd put on guitars and his voice, then I'll send it all Todd and he would pass it on to his brother Toby, who's a drummer," Nash told Uncut magazine. "That was an interesting way to work, and I think we pulled it off. It sounds completely studio-made."
