Songfacts®:

  • "Pop It" is a flex track where Gunna runs through his wins, from a widebody Mercedes-Benz to a Rolls-Royce with a Starlight Headliner roof that makes it look as though he brought the night sky indoors ("my roof havin' stars"). In the second verse, he admits he cannot decide which luxury ride to drive, so he hires a chauffeur to avoid cutting back on his drinking.
  • Released on October 9, 2026, "Pop It" marked Gunna's first solo release since his 2025 album The Last Wun. It was also the debut release on SB THE LABEL, which he runs as CEO alongside Atlantic Music Group after leaving Young Thug's YSL label.
  • Spike Jordan, Gunna's longtime creative partner, directed the music video, filming it in Atlanta in late September 2026. The visual opens with Gunna playing tennis with star player Coco Gauff, who was also born in Atlanta. The concept grew out of a trip to the south of France, where Gunna and Jordan picked up the sport. Jordan's logic was simple: "Why not learn from the best?" He reached out to Gauff through a mutual connection and discovered she was already a fan.

The video also features Casper Bluff, Nechie, and Dracc, the first three artists Gunna signed to SB THE LABEL.
  • The title stems from the chorus hook, "Pop it again (Pop it)," punctuated by ad-libs including "Widebody Benz," "Racks by the ten," and "Wun for the win." That last phrase nods to Gunna's "Wunna" persona and his album titles built around the word "Wun."

The video gives "Pop It" a literal spin: Gunna shouts the phrase to encourage Gauff to serve an ace, and her serve kicks off the song's beat. It is an athletic take on the title, contrasting the usual celebration of material possessions.
  • Producer Lord Capp built the track by laying trap drums beneath a repeating synth fanfare. His previous work with Gunna includes "Again" and "Still Prevail."
  • As the lead single from Gunna's album Splurge, "Pop It" debuted at #55 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was his 100th entry on the chart, making him the 25th artist in Billboard history to reach that milestone. His first chart appearance came in 2018 as a featured artist on Lil Baby's "Life Goes On," which peaked at #74.
