Songfacts®:

  • An ode to the Italian design house, "Prada Dem" finds Gunna and Set trading bars about the high life. They flex about balling out and dropping major cash on that fancy-schmancy Prada gear.
  • In 2022, Gunna faced a long prison sentence after being entangled in a complex RICO case alongside Young Thug and the YSL crew. He accepted a plea deal, admitting guilt to a single charge, meaning his sentence was diminished. After he was released in December 2022, rumors started that Gunna had snitched on Young Thug and YSL members. Here, he pushes back against the snitching allegations.

    I set the trend, I'm a trendsetter
I'm not a rat, still getting cheddar gets real here
  • This song is pure "drip music," the style Gunna pretty much invented. Offset's all about that fly life too. Remember him acting as a judge on HBO's The Hype, a show chronicling the talents of aspiring streetwear designers?
  • "Prada Dem" is far from the first time Offset and Gunna have worked together. The two Atlanta rappers have collaborated in the past on cuts such as "Wild Wild West" and Drip Season 2's "Beat the Case."
  • "Prada Dem" marks Gunna's first release with a featured artist since his legal stuff went down. Some rappers, like Lil Baby, bounced after that whole YSL mess, but Offset's still riding with him.
  • The beat's a trippy trap banger courtesy of Aviator Keyyz (Quavo's "Flip the Switch," Lil Durk's "3 Headed Goat"), Evrgrn (YoungBoy Never Broke Again's "I Choose You," Lil Baby's On Me") and FritzOnDaTrack (Rod Wave's "Blame On You" NLE Choppa's "Twin Flame"). Think woozy synths and hi-hats on repeat.
  • Leff shot the music video in New York City. It's all about Gunna and Offset stunting through the Big Apple, taking over the Prada store on 5th Avenue like it's their own personal photoshoot. We see them rocking Prada shades and snapping up all kinds of expensive stuff while they're there.
