Songfacts®:

  • Hawk Nelson vocalist Jonathan Steingard penned this track with Sam Tinnesz, who is a former member of the American contemporary Christian band MIKESCHAIR. Here's the story behind the song: "We had to write something that was honest, and something that was what we were going through," said Steingard. "'You are good even when you're not understood.' That was a pivotal line in the song for me. In that moment both of us were in this place where we knew that God is faithful and that God loves, but we didn't see it in our circumstances at that moment. In those situations we have to press through and say I believe that God is who he says he is and that he loves us as much as he says he does."
