Album: El Pintor (2014)
Play Video

Songfacts®:

  • The song's music video was directed by Markus Lundqvist who previously worked in special effects. The clip features Frank Grillo, from the movie Warrior. We see him drowning his sorrows at a bar, which has Interpol as the house band.
  • El Pintor was the band's first album since 2010, and the first without bass player Carlos Dengler. It was self-produced and features frontman, Paul Banks, taking over on bass. "El Pintor" means "The Painter" in Spanish and is also a 1650 play by Pedro Calderón de la Barca. It is also an anagram of the word Interpol.
